One of the most popular and effective solutions for men and women suffering from all types of hair loss from thinning hair, mild hairline recession and other forms of alopecia. See FAQ bleow. Non-invasive requiring no pills, potions or surgery it delivers iinstant results over 1 - 2 3 sessions though results are noticeable after the first treatment.
The treatment itself is a highly specialised form of micro-tattooing much like a dot painting. There are no brush strokes or lines. The aim is to reduce the contrast between the shiny pink scalp and the hair creating the illusion of density and deptth.
Men and women of any age with any type of hair loss can benefit from Density SMP. At Density, we specialise in exactly that, creating the illusion of thicker fuller hair and camoflaging any scalp show-through. Anyone can have Density SMP if they have some hair in the area of concern no matter how thin or fine.
No. Any hair regrowth is incidental. Density SMP effectively creates the illusion of thicker fuller hair and can be used alone or in conjunction with most other hair growth treatments.
Most people find the treatment very comfortable with little to no pain reported. When I had mine done, I fell asleep!
No. The SMP pigment used is water-based and the small trauma to the scalp will not harm existing hair or hair follicles. Hair regrowth will remain normal.
1 - 3 treatements is the average depending on the amount of hair loss and how the individuals skin takes the pigment. For instance SMP for a small patch (alopecia areata) or only in the "widow's peak" the front of the hairline may only require a single treatment but most people would need 2-3 depending on severity and how much scalp coverage is needed to achieve the desired effect.
On average one would expect to want a top up every 5 - 6 Years. This depends entirely on how the individual skin holds the ink.
Absolutely. Even white hair casts a gray shadow on the scalp. As long as there is reasonable hair cover in the area the overall result will be as good as with any other colour hair. The colour of the hair makes little difference.
No. While some SMP clinics use coloured inks to "match" the clients hair colour, there is no colour used at Density. We use only a gray scale of carbon black ink dilutions to suit the hair colour and skin-type of the individual. The effect of SMP is create a shadow and give the illusion of depth and scalp cover. Have you ever seen a colourful shadow? In addition, pigmented inks fade unpredictably and end up a very different colour than the original application, sometimes fading to a purple or orangey pink! Over time, Density SMP will fade to a lighter gray depending on sun exposure and quality, condition and age of the skin.
No. The techniques used in microblading brows is completely different from SMP.
This very much depends on how extensive the hair loss is and how the skin takes the ink.
The prices range from £700 - £2200.
